Benefits of Mint

When we hear the word Mint, we probably think of clean & minty-fresh breath, but it has a ton of other benefits too.

Throughout history, people have used different species of mint plants in medicine. Different types of mint plants offer a range of antioxidant qualities and potential health benefits, especially for people who have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Consumption of mint is also thought to relieve pain and discomfort from gas and bloating.

Beats stress and depression: In aromatherapy mint extract is used to beat stress and rejuvenate the mind. Breathing in the fumes of mint helps relax the body and calm the mind, freeing it of stress. It releases a small amount of serotonin in the brain that also helps beat depression. 

Mint plants contain an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent called Rosmarinic Acid. This has been studied for its effectiveness in relieving seasonal allergy symptoms, revealing a promising natural treatment.
